The busy holiday season has kept me from getting to this as early as I would have liked, but the newest Kicks N Licks tune with Lauren Hunter is worth waiting for.
Called “Mind,” it’s hard to really describe the ease with which the track makes producing seem. From the perfectly tempered bassline to the almost hypnotic and innovative percussion, there’s something new to listen to with each listen. Every time the song repeats, it’s like a new treasure hunt, “What can I find next?”
Though some might see this as distracting to the listening experience, it’s only more rewarding once you’ve found all the pieces you can and appreciate the song in its entirety.
