A powerful new collaboration has landed in the melodic techno sphere as THE ILLUSTRATED MAN and Sasha Carassi unite with Berlin-based vocalist and producer Aquarius Heaven for their atmospheric new single, ‘Dance of Shadows’, out today via ILINX.
The release serves as the latest preview of THE ILLUSTRATED MAN’s forthcoming debut album, The Skin Of Time, arriving June 12. Over the past year, the Armenia-born, Dubai-based producer has steadily built momentum as one of electronic music’s most intriguing emerging names, earning support from tastemakers including Adriatique, Bedouin, Richie Hawtin, Township Rebellion, and Joris Voorn, while also landing plays on platforms such as BBC Radio 1 and Ibiza Global Radio.
Built around shadowy synth textures, rolling percussion, and the unmistakable vocal presence of Aquarius Heaven, ‘Dance of Shadows’ unfolds with cinematic precision. The track threads together a driving, hypnotic pulse with a quieter emotional pull, unfolding in a way that shifts effortlessly between club pressure and more introspective, after-hours moments. 
Sasha Carassi’s influence is felt throughout the production. The veteran Italian producer, known for his fearless approach to techno and melodic electronic music, co-produced, mixed, and mastered the single at his Naples studio, helping shape the record’s dark yet fluid energy. Having spent decades evolving his sound since first emerging in the 1990s, Carassi once again demonstrates why he remains such a respected figure within underground electronic music.
For THE ILLUSTRATED MAN, the project continues to blur the boundaries between music, storytelling, and visual art. Inspired by the book The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury, the artist’s concept revolves around constantly evolving narratives translated into sound. Each production is intentionally layered, unfolding with a sense of tension, emotion, and mystery.
Speaking on the release, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN describes ‘Dance of Shadows’ as “a hypnotic and fluid movement where groove emerges, enriched by soulful and expressive vocals,” adding that, “Time does not pass, it transforms. What remains is not what happened, but what it became within us.”
