A new analysis of online search behaviour suggests that music fans are increasingly looking beyond their local markets when planning festival experiences, with major international events attracting the highest levels of global interest ahead of 2026.
According to data compiled by ticket comparison platform SeatPick, Belgium’s world-famous electronic music festival Tomorrowland currently leads the pack in worldwide search demand. The festival generated an average of 2.05 million monthly searches, placing it ahead of some of the entertainment industry’s most recognisable brands. Scheduled to return across two weekends in July 2026, Tomorrowland continues to draw attention through its elaborate stage productions, immersive themes and genre-spanning lineups.
Trailing closely behind was Coachella, which recorded roughly 1.75 million monthly searches. Despite maintaining its position as one of North America’s most influential cultural events, the California festival was unable to match the level of online interest generated by its Belgian counterpart. Lollapalooza secured third place with approximately 1.23 million monthly searches, reinforcing its status as one of the United States‘ most consistently popular multi-genre festivals.
The report also highlighted the enduring appeal of long-established events. England’s Glastonbury Festival ranked fourth despite not taking place in 2026 due to its scheduled fallow year, while Burning Man continued to command significant attention without relying on traditional artist bookings or headline acts. Further down the rankings were Rolling Loud, Roskilde Festival, Rock am Ring, Bonnaroo and Ultra Music Festival, each maintaining strong levels of global search interest.
SeatPick’s findings were based on average monthly search volumes gathered through Google Keyword Planner over the past year. The company analysed more than a thousand festival-related keyword combinations to determine which events are generating the greatest levels of online curiosity. The results suggest that, alongside ticket sales and attendance figures, search activity is becoming an increasingly useful indicator of which festivals are capturing the imagination of music fans around the world.
