Eric Prydz is renowned the world over for his legendary production technique and signature sound. Even more impressive is his ability to juggle his releases between his many aliases, each comprising one element of Eric Prydz’s immense prodution style. Recently, the Swedish maestro unveiled his newest release, which will be under his Pryda alias. Pryda has always been the more experimental, deep progressive side of Eric Prydz’s sound, and Mr. Prydz had a monumental release over the summer with the Pryda artist album (Virgin Records, 2012), featuring the hit single “Allein.” Now, the newest EP, “Bergen/Recomondos,” will include two progressive tracks that are already sounding like typical Pryda gold.
These tracks received their worldwide debut over the weekend on Pete Tong’s acclaimed show Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1, and the response has been overwhelming. The first track “Bergen,” is a lighter form of progressive with an infectious groove courtesy of expert synth work and some rhythmic percussion. “Recomondos,” meanwhile, is an immensely deep track with echoing chords, a driving feel, and some very atmospheric synth arrangements. All in all, the upcoming EP is sounding like the usual Pryda: dynamic, melodic, and always unique. Look for the “Bergen/Recomondos EP” to be released on November 26th off of Pryda Recordings.
