One of the labelmates of Rising Music, Nom De Strip‘s newest work arrives just in time to precede the label’s fall tour. Nezzo accompanies Nom De Strip on “Devil’s BBQ“, a brand new name in the game whose prior work “Shadows” released on Dim Mak in July. The introduction of “Devil’s BBQ” follows the off-kilter approach as recently heard in David Solano‘s “Kaboom” or the older “Pandor” from Tony Romera, leading to expectations of a drop as such to those. However when it does drop, it follows the now ever so controversial “minimal one-note drop” theme, making this easily a love-it-or-hate-it track. It is frustrating to hear too, Nom De Strip historically has been putting unique, unconventional touches to his music unheard elsewhere, “Nippleodeon” is an example. For fans of the hard jump tracks of 2013, “Devil’s BBQ” might just be for you. It is available here on Beatport.
