Martin Garrix is at it again, this time with the help of Firebeatz.” Featuring the big-room synth we have come to know so well from the boy-wonder, “Helicopter” makes use of an airy build, heavy winding drop, and jungle influenced percussion line. While Garrix continues to impress his talents upon the EDM world in this new single, Firebeatz‘ influence on this record is apparent.
The heavier drops and grittier sound that the Dutch duo contribute only add to Garrix‘s style (and build his resume). Well worth the wait, this track hits right where it should, and holds intrigue through it’s entirety. Sure to be a chart-topper and played out everywhere, one can only wonder if Helicopter can top Animals‘ seriously impressive numbers. Pick it up on Beatport today!

…Where’s the jungle-influenced percussion? I listened really hard for some congas, bongos, or even darbukahs and any other kind of percussion instrument arranged in a more dynamic and varied style to set this tune apart from every other bigroom track out there. All I heard was a single tom on the backbeat. I was all psyched up to hear a bigroom tune that didn’t sound identical to everything else.
So much for THAT.
