What are the most popular songs people listen to during their workout? Billboard worked with Spotify and music intelligence platform The Echo Nest to come up with the top songs compiled from 1.5 billion workout playlists created by 40 million people.

Results showed that EDM made up 16% of the playlists, and was a common genre for the gym, tae-bo and biking. Among the top 25 tracks, Avicii’s ‘Levels’ and ‘Wake Me Up’ came in at #2 and #5, ‘Bangarang’ by Skrillex was ranked #4. Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Greyhound’ was 11th, and ‘Wild for the Night’ by A$AP Rocky, Skrillex and Birdy Nam Nam was 12th. Additionally, of the top 600 workout tracks, Skrillex was the second top artist with 6 songs.

The study didn’t specify the time period from which these playlists were analyzed, as it would have been interesting — and also telling of listeners’ change in musical preference — to see a comparison of genres and top tracks year over year.

See below for the full top 25 workout tracks and analysis of audio attributes that make up the different types of workouts.
