So… it’s one of these again. But seriously, watch this one.
I know we say that every time, but come on… this one is actually pretty good.
What’s it about? Well… I mean, in the end, we would like you to not do drugs.
I know that’s not our business! But we care about you.
Well… you’re going to do what you’re going to do, but please at least learn about what you’re putting into your body.
Drug PSAs are usually cliché, but Toronto Crime Stoppers have hit the jackpot this time with “Cookin with Molly.”
In this PSA co-produced by late night talk show host Craig Ferguson, the molly chemical isn’t some frightening and mysterious “monster under your bed.” It’s actually the main ingredient in a cooking show! But just as a cooking show is never complete with just the main ingredient, this PSA goes deeper, in a funny way, to show just how a pill might be made. A lot of this is common sense that is passed around quite frequently, and for the most part, my generation has a good habit of saying “Yeah, I heard you the first time” when we don’t even know what we’re responding to.
The issue of drugs at shows is pervasive. One could even say it’s an integral part of EDM. Personally, I don’t even care if you take drugs. I just don’t want you to die.
THUMP also asked an actual dealer to “separate the fact from fiction” in the video. His biggest gripe? The lab was too clean. You can read more about that HERE.
If you have any information to report to the Toronto Crime Stoppers, you can do so anonymously by calling 416-222-TIPS (8477), heading to their website www.222tips.com, texting TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637) or leaving a tip on Facebook.
