I have this weird little obsession with hip hop x electronic. You wouldn’t expect it looking at me, an early 20’s white boy from an Armenian neighborhood in Los Angeles. I don’t really listen to it for the lyrics as some might say you should, but I’ve always considered vocals to be an instrument in themselves, and exceptional flow is a skill like any other.
Los Angeles-producer Sean Jeria has produced an EP, The Beginning Of A Never-Ending Story, that fuses those two worlds expertly and flow is at the forefront of consideration here. Along with heavy glitch, the hip hop elements are real. “Thank You World” is the first track of the EP and is a great introduction to the rest of the work. The track by itself goes through a variety of tempos and rhythms, creating its own unique microcosm of musical intensity. The first minute is undoubtedly the most intense. For the rest, the vibes do the work on their own and let you sway and flow at your own pace.
Keep an eye out for this EP when it drops if you’re a fan of hip hop, you won’t want to miss it. The rest of the tracks will be dropped throughout the month.
