Hold on to your hats, folks. You’re about to be taken for a ride.
June Miller’s Ups & Downs EP in January was only the beginning. Their debut album Robots & Romans is out on June 22nd and we’ve got the exclusive premiere of the first and title track on the album.
As the intro, it serves a very specific purpose in acclimating listeners to the overall theme of the album – and it does that ridiculously well. The vocal intro teases suspense and futuristic wonder, leading up to the meat of the track: the drum & bass. Majestic string and vocal work accompany downright dirty drum work in a very effective attempt to raise the anticipation even higher.
As the neuro synths began to come in, every hair on my body stood on end. It was as if someone was taking a feather and running it right down the middle of my back, making me hyper aware and excessively sensitive to my surroundings.
And then, the drop.
With heavy influence from Noisia and Black Sun Empire, the neuro absolutely consumes you. And if you say you weren’t immediately dancing around wherever you were, then you’re lying.
Additionally, I can confidently tell you that “Robots & Romans” is only the tip of the iceberg that is their debut album.
Pre-order it now here and try not to pass out from the anticipation.
