Toronto-based hybrid producer Noahplause has just released a staggering trap/jersey club original, appropriately titled “FIRE“. This track follows a two-year long career of decimating dance floors, with his very first song “Double Take” receiving direct support from Diplo, RL Grime, Hucci, Flosstradamus, and more. As he continues to refine his craft, Noahplause will undoubtedly continue to push the limits of everything ‘trap’.
“Fire” begins with light, ethereal swells and a foreboding snap. Slowly, sharp percussive elements calmly enter the space, subtly exhibiting their strength and power that’s soon to follow. An indecipherable vocal sample makes its way to the front of the mix alongside the hissing riser. Suddenly, chaos strikes as broken, tonal, percussive hits tumble over the rattling sub bass below. Nearly everything is stripped away, leaving the vocals center stage. The cycle repeats itself, until an unconventional and minimal jersey rhythm takes over, supported by rolling bells and hats. The trap beat returns and carries the song until its close.
