If you play in Japan, you gotta play to your crowd, right?
UMF Japan concluded earlier today (Japan is 16 hours ahead of the west coast) with headlining sets from David Guetta, Alesso and Zeds Dead, but it might be hard to top Skrillex’s closing set from Sunday. As a former lead member of a screamo/metal band, his appreciation of the art form is unquestionable. As such, who better to bring out as a special guest than BABYMETAL, the female hard rock trio.
Skrillex brought them out on stage during his performance for their hit single “Gimme chocolate!!”, an odd combination of cute Japanese vocals and heavy metal rhythms. Like it or not, it’s an incredible track to hear played out live, especially from someone as formidable as Skrillex.
