While many producers choose to create music all on their own, others opt to collaborate to bounce ideas off each other and mesh their individual styles together. Some duos go together as well as peanut butter and jelly, and Corey James and Will K may very well be the hottest rising duo working in EDM today. Their new collaboration” Covka” landed on Nicky Romero‘s Protocol Recordings mix compilation ADE 2015, in honor of the upcoming Amsterdam Dance Event.
The track is pure progressive bliss, one that impressively refrains from sticking on a cacophonous drop to appeal to the charts. The two producers come together to layer the track in gradually building synths, which creates a tension that’s palpable anywhere from one’s car speakers to the dance floor. A slight break in the middle of the track gives the listener time to breathe before Corey and Will reign in for a final assault on the senses. Dark and magnetic, “Covka” is a worthy anthem for ADE 2015.
