Just over a year ago, it was announced that Crystal Castles would be splitting up as singer Alice Glass had decided she could no longer maintain her creative integrity with the band. This was a big shock to fans, and many feared it was the end of the legendary group. However, founder Ethan Kath assured listeners he would continue producing under the Crystal Castles name and after some new music was released several months ago, fans were anxiously awaiting his return to touring. And finally the wait is over, as the first Crystal Castles set just went down at the SoundsWild festival in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Unfortunately, Alice is still uninvolved with the project and Kath has recruited the help of a new female singer, known only as Edith Frances. They also announced on Facebook that new music is coming soon and that they will be performing again tonight, this time in Cape Town at Synergy Live.
