****SPOILER WARNING – GAME OF THRONES****
Game of Thrones is the most popular TV show on the air today (via IMDb), so it’s no surprise that mainstream social media ran rampant with undying love and hysterical memes after Hodor’s valiant death. In an unexpected turn of events, “Hold The Door” has become canonized in the world of television phrases. It was as devastating as it was disseminating, and I personally still haven’t gotten over it.
Actor Kristian Nairn has understandably received a ton of exposure as the latest victim of George R.R. Martin’s onslaught of beloved characters, exemplified perfectly by this encounter I first saw on Reddit this past Wednesday.
Apparently this attention has also spread into the DJ world, as Nairn has reportedly received a mountainous (see what I did there) loads of offers from all over the world. Although he was DJing long before he became famous for his disyllabic role, his TV death has made him a must-have for venues across the globe.
Around three years ago, he commenced an extensive tour titled “Rave of Thrones” that offers attendees a juxtaposition of Game of Thrones decor and Hodor’s versatile DJ skills. It’s only human nature to assume that this was started as a gimmick to make money, but Nairn actually has some serious talent behind the 1’s and 2’s. Check out the first episode of his monthly mix session below and judge for yourself.
