Mat Zo released his newest album Self Assemble earlier this year to great reviews. Twelve tracks of real, legitimate self expression and he’s cemented his status as an incredible producer once again. However, those who know him best know that he definitely has some firepower up his sleeve for when he needs it – “Ruffneck Bad Boy (VIP)” proved that at the very least.
Late last night, he uploaded a new track to Soundcloud that apparently “didn’t quite make it on the next release,” a forthcoming EP, MAD, out September 8. Titled “Revelation Crisis,” the track utilizes orchestral rises and vocals in the build to create a sense of utter suspense before dropping into the heavy and dark body of the tune, warbly sound effects and weighty drums galore.
