KOLAJ have been on a tear since the duo launched the band in 2015. Between collaborating with Kaskade and K-Pop superstar, Eric Nam, to racking up almost 10 million streams on their single “The Touch,” Teesa Houston and Mighty Mike McGarity are clearly on to something. Taking the appealing aspects of tropical instruments and applying them to indie-pop arrangements, KOLAJ have certainly carved their own niche in both dance and pop, and their new single, “Hitchhike,” could prove to be their biggest output to date.
Guided by Houston’s belting vocals and Mighty Mike’s robust percussion, “Hitchhike” is a West Coast anthem that help those welcoming winter already hold onto summer despite its passing. With another crossover anthem to add to their resume, KOLAJ may be the next dance-pop act to eventually make it onto radiowaves.
