It’s only been a little over a year since The Weeknd’s last album Beauty Behind The Madness broke the charts. Having gone multiplatinum in more than one region, it wouldn’t have been surprising to let the album ride for another year, especially with hits like “The Hills” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”
But lo and behold, 15 months later Abel is out with another album and he’s raised the bar even higher for himself now, collaborating with Daft Punk, Lana Del Rey and Kendrick Lamar. With tracks like “Starboy,” “Sidewalks” and “A Lonely Day” on the deck, this is The Weeknd’s most expansive album to-date with 18 tracks (beating out even the deluxe edition of Beauty Behind The Madness).
Beyond the vocal features on the album, Starboy also includes production from a number of notable dance figures, including Cashmere Cat and Diplo.
The album has led some to believe, including us here at Your EDM, that The Weeknd is putting a good show for himself as this generation’s new King of Pop. Check out Starboy in all its glory below.
