This past Friday, deadmau5 released his sixth album W:/2016ALBUM/, which was also his first album released independently through his record label mau5trap. He’s kept himself busy posting a few updates and criticism on his Twitter account since releasing the album, including teasing a new compilation album, bashing his previous record label Ultra Records and giving his fans a new address for fan mail.

Despite just releasing a new album, deadmau5 announced his plans for a compilation album titled Stuff I Used to Do, which will include remastered songs of his from 1998 to 2007. He also revealed he hopes to release the album in February, but given some of the delays on his previous albums, we will be cautiously optimistic it will release in two months.

Deadmau5 also took some time to air some criticisms for his former record label Ultra Records for releasing an extended version of the viral, YouTube song “PPAB (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)” by PIKOTARO, the fictional musical alias of Japanese comedian Daimaou Kosaka. Deadmau5 lambasted Ultra for pulling a cash grab by releasing the song and voicing his appreciation for now being independent and separate from a major label.

Finally, deadmau5 revealed a new mailing address for fans to send him fan mail. Fans can now send mail to the mau5 to PO Box 159 Campbellville, ON L0P 1B0. Deadmau5 also reminded everyone to include return postage for such things as signed albums and responses from the man himself. Overall, just a typical weekend for deadmau5’s always-expressive Twitter.
