Huge New Venue Coming to NYC’s Governors Island Brings In Tiësto, Carl Cox, Hardwell and More

NYC will be getting down this summer, as a new venue is coming to Governors Island!

The 2-stage plan will cover 6 acres of the beautiful Upper New York Bay property, and although it’s not set to be ready until June 17th, it already has a stacked lineup. Huge acts like Tiësto, Carl Cox, Hardwell, and Richie Hawtin are confirmed headliners, so you know it’s going to be a fire setup.

Nightlife mogul and owner of Williamsburg’s Schimanski, Eddie Dean, is the man behind the plan, and the person NYC can thank for the development. According to Page Six, Dean says the venue will incorporate a blended range of get togethers including “food and beverage events” and “social events like a yoga rave and a children’s family brunch,” as well as a stacked music lineup.

Governors Island has been home to big EDM events like the Dirtybird BBQ, and a slew of other festivals, so it’s on track to find it’s place as a staple in the Big Apple’s music scene.
