Flume Plays Throwback What So Not Track with Custom Mixer [WATCH]

Reaction Day 1

Just in time for “Throwback Thursday,” Flume is taking it back to his What So Not days — sharing some snippets via his Instagram story while messing around on the decks with some older material.

Interestingly enough, he’s spinning an early What So Not track, “Touched,” on the decks with a custom mixer labeled “Flume” and “Emoh” on their respective sides. Flume also shared a short video of a mashup between his smash hit “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai and his remix for Hermitude‘s “HyperParadise.”

Past and Future of Flume and What So Not

When the producers broke off due to creative differences in 2015, they had already released the 7 Dollar Bill and Quack EPs, and the iconic song “Jaguar” that launched the duo into mass popularity. It’s hard to listen to Flume or What So Not without hearing the similarities and influences each project has on the other.

Though there’s much speculation about a falling out and a stolen track, that hasn’t stopped Reddit from jumping on the possibility of a reunion… Do you think there could be a Flume feature on What So Not’s debut album, expected in 2017?
