Three days ago, a new world record was set for fastest production car in the world by the Koenigsegg Agera RS. The record was previously held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, at 267 mph. The Agera RS has just shattered that record, hitting an average top speed of 277.9 mph. Though, the car still managed to reach a top speed of 284 mph under the right conditions.
Even still, the record isn’t expected to last long. The Bugatti Chiron hasn’t yet had a chance to hit the track and make an official attempt, nor is the Agera RS even Koenigsegg’s flagship model. That belongs to the Regera, which Koenigsegg claims is even faster and more powerful.
