Josh Young and Carolina Cecil have just released their collaborative remix of the A$AP Ferg single “East Coast” from his latest mixtape Still Striving. Professionally known as YehMe2 and Whipped Cream respectively, the two have brought together their particular styles and infectious sounds into the forefront with their production skills.
The song starts by muffling A$AP Ferg’s vocals and then layering it over the beats with the signature hook the song is known for. From there it builds into the first drop which appears to be the handiwork of YehMe2 with it’s abrasive trap flavor. For the second drop, the song speeds up the beat in the direction of jersey club similar to the type of sound Whipped Cream has become known for. The result is a remix headed by a veteran producer and a soon-to-be star in the bass music scene.
Although YehMe2 separated from Flosstradamus in December of 2016, that has not stopped him from receiving support from his fans and pushing out new music. From his monster remix of “Stay Awake” by Anna Lunoe and Sleepy Tom to his debut set at Hard Summer Music Festival, it appears that Young will continue to rise in popularity despite departing from one of the biggest trap acts EDM has ever bore witness to.
Meanwhile, Whipped Cream has been making moves with a release on Nest HQ with her Persistence EP. She has also added her dabble of electronic production on a number of popular hip-hop tracks including “Swang” by Rae Sremmurd, “Unforgettable” by French Montana, and even a VIP edit of Skrillex’s remix on “Humble” by Kendrick Lamar.
