The Chainsmokers can switch lanes like it’s nothing. One minute, they’ve gone completely pop and the next they’re putting out a fire trap collab with NGHTMRE. Now, it’s entirely possible that the in-demand duo is getting into some country. We’re serious.
Back in 2016, a Twitter exchange between Kelsea Ballerini and The Chainsmokers had people talking. Nearly two years and countless hits later, it seems their hint at a potential collaboration is coming to be.
The duo sparked up a new conversation with this…

The country star was quick to respond with what sounds like lyrical wordplay…
I’ll tell you a story before it tells itself… 🥂❤️😉 https://t.co/FUCUo9K2KM

Genres have blurred more than ever and what really matters is straight up musical chemistry. Zedd enlisted in Maren Morris, a powerhouse singer with country roots, to turn his track “The Middle” into one of this year’s biggest hits. Alesso also went country recently, calling upon Florida Georgia Line (who actually also collaborated with The Chainsmokers on “Last Day Alive”).
We bet that Kelsea Ballerini and The Chainsmokers have cooked up something worth hearing no matter what it might classify as. The only question is… Are you ready?
