Galantis just dropped the most 2018 song of 2018. In other words, it’s all about emojis.
For this one, the duo creates a unique musical space with soft plucks and breathy vocals that build into a chill house groove. With new emojis being released this week as part of the new iOS 12.1, this track couldn’t have come at a better time. This song truly feeds into Gen X’s affinity for technology.
On a deeper level, this song is about feelings. “Send me an emoji,” the singer is trying to feel out another person’s feelings. Sometimes, when there are no words, there are only emojis. Then, there are songs about emojis. 
Even if you find the lyrics kind of cheesy, the production is impeccable — as with any Galantis production.
