Flume Teases 2019 Return

It’s been nearly two years since the world last received new music from Flume. (As a refresher, he released Skin Companion EP II in February 2017.) By no means the longest drought from a producer or artist, there has still been a palpable void felt from the absence of one of Australia’s greatest exports.

As the new year approaches, Flume is ready to start releasing again.

“Cheers 2018,” Flume captions an Instagram post from the east coast of Australia, near Brisbane. “Next year I’ll be back in your life, I promise.”

I think I can safely speak for everyone when I say I’m incredibly excited for this.

Even in just the short time Flume has been away, the music landscape has changed a lot. At the same time, there’s a lot of pressure on Flume to be innovative in ways that no one else has been. It’s a lot of responsibility to place on an individual, but we’re confident he can rise to the occasion.
