It’s a true shame that Eric Prydz had to pull out of all his Miami events due to health reasons. Apart from his Cirez D back-to-back with Adam Beyer on Day 1, he also could not perform his set as the penultimate artist on the ASOT stage on Sunday night. Fortunately, Armin van Buuren is no stranger to long sets and filled in for Prydz as well as played his own timeslot.
The result was a massive 3.5 hour journey that crowd won’t soon forget. While it’s not the longest Armin has played by a long shot, nor is it even the most elaborate production he’s been afforded, it’s still the longest he’s ever played at Ultra in 10 years of being booked to perform.
Armin kept the vibes genuine for the first 90 minutes of the performance, spinning almost entirely with a backlight, letting the music do the talking. The following 120 minutes were his original set time, and so the vibe changed dramatically once he was let loose to play a true Armin Only-style set.
Overall, it’s a captivating visual experience and you can watch all of it below right now.
