After meetings with local residents of Okeechobee last month, the Okeechobee Music Festival is official set to return in 2020 for March 5-8. Residents were fighting to keep the event from overlapping with their Speckled Perch Festival and our Spring PRCA Rodeo, which have been historically held on the second weekend in March for over 50 years. OMF will be held on the first weekend.

The preliminary lineup for the annual festival is usually announced in October. Given the unique circumstances of this year’s event, Jim Whisenand, a member of the Soundslinger board of directors, said the final lineup will be announced in November.

“This festival is unique,” said Mr. Whisenand. “Most music festivals are in urban areas. At Sunshine Grove, we have 600 pristine acres with wooded areas and a lake.” He said the festival even creates a beach for the festival.

The festival will be jointly produced with Insomniac Events, which throws Electric Daisy Carnival, Beyond Wonderland, Electric Forest, and more.
