Purple Haze is back with another amazing track, “Strangers Thing.” Sander van Doorn’s alter-ego takes us on a six-and-a-half minute journey with a driving track that, as the name suggests, derives it’s inspiration from not only the hit Netflix show, but from the pulsing synths and beats of the ’80s as well.
The track opens up pretty standard, there’s some pads, some hi-hats, and a little repeating synth note. As the percussion and synths start building up, the track starts getting a dark, groovy vibe. You truly get lost in the beat. After the first drop, the song really starts feeling like a rave in the ’80s. The same little synth from the first part of the song is mixed into some synths that sound like they were in an A-Ha video. The moments where the mix is brought down and the weird background vocals play are especially rave-y!
