Timmy Trumpet has shared his first release in six months with ‘Not A Place’ featuring Oaks.
The single, which dropped on prominent record label Spinnin’ Records, highlights a much more introspective side of Timmy Trumpet.
‘Not A Place’ is the product of a period of reassessment and reflection for Timmy Trumpet, as he took a break from releasing new music for six months. Swedish singer-songwriter Oaks’ poignant lyrics and heartfelt delivery create a stirring warmth throughout the track, evoking emotions such as heartbreak and grief. The track also mirrors a tumultuous time in Timmy’s life as he recently announced that he and his partner of 10 years have parted ways, making this offering even more significant. 
With harmonised horns and staggering synths, the track features Timmy Trumpet’s larger than life builds and extravagant cascading sound, but this time around the atmosphere and feel is more emotive, heavy and solemn.
Sharing more on the track Timmy Trumpet revealed; “This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt sharing my music with the world. Everything I release this year, every lyric, every beat, every record, is coming from a real place. It’s personal, and it’s probably not what people expect. There’s nothing I love more than collaborating with artists who deeply understand the complexity of emotion. Winona [Oaks] was able to capture what I was going through in real life with a level of depth and sensitivity that’s incredibly rare. What she’s done with ‘Not A Place‘ is pure poetry.”
