Dreamstate SoCal is getting a massive upgrade, and will make its return to the Queen Mary Waterfront this November.
For this year’s installment, The Void stage will transform into the Long Beach Amphitheater, which will help elevate the festival experience for fans while still allowing them to experience the iconic setting alongside the historic ship. The new changes will enhance both the atmosphere and overall flow of the festival, with the intention of improving long-standing logistical challenges for attendees.
The revamped amphitheater will replace The Void, known for hosting harder and darker sounds like hard techno and hard trance. With a planned capacity of 10 000, the new structure sparked speculation about a possible venue change, but those rumours have been put to rest with the festival confirming it will still take place at the Queen Mary Waterfront. 
The city will allocate $14 million according to an article by Long Beach Local News, which includes infrastructure upgrades like improved parking and land grading, while it’s expected to generate $26 million in net profit over the next decade.
