South African DJ and producer Prince Kaybee has returned with his latest single, ‘Veliry’, arriving today, August 21, via PLAYY. Records. The new Afro-house release sees Kaybee collaborate with singer-songwriter Ben September, combining his established dance production with September’s smooth R&B and Afro-pop-influenced vocals.
‘Veliry’ opens with a warm guitar melody before gradually introducing rolling percussion and a rhythmic Afro-house foundation. September’s vocals sit naturally within the production, while layered instrumentation and melodic details give the track a spacious, organic feel. Kaybee says the song was inspired by a woman named Veliry, describing the track as a reflection of the feeling of a beautiful day filled with love songs.
The release follows Kaybee’s previous single ‘Heno Babayo’, which received international support from outlets including Mixmag, YourEDM and House Music With Love, as well as radio play in the UK and South Africa. The new collaboration continues a run of releases from the South African artist, who has built an international profile through tracks including ‘Club Controller’, ‘Banomoya’ and ‘Uwrongo’, alongside collaborations with artists such as Lady Zamar, Black Motion and Shimza.
With ‘Veliry’, Prince Kaybee continues to draw from the Afro-house sound that has remained central to his catalogue while bringing Ben September into the mix for a more soulful vocal presence. The single is available now on PLAYY. Records.
