So. Rolling Stone Italia post a rather disturbing and inflammatory video about EDM and a lot of you lose your shit:

On first impressions I found it rather strange why the magazine felt so strongly about EDM that they made a video where maggots fester in someone’s ear. However it appears to be a carefully executed plan seeing that is has been up for about a week now. If it is a publicity stunt, it’s working pretty well. Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing about it right now. Duh. 
But if you want to get yourself swept up into yet another pathetic YouTube flame war, then by all means watch the video and rage yourself into an appalled, self-righteous coma. Or you could do nothing at all, and leave the fedora-wearing ‘Dad-rockers’ alone on their snobby, self-righteous and dying plateau.

That was weird, using a house track as the bgm in the video. I liked the video for its cool imagery and music. The topic was misguided. As someone who grew up and still loves classic rock but is now an aspiring EDM producer, I don’t understand the blind hatred of another genre.
The only reason I can confidently hate pop is because I have heard a lot of it

they pretty much say there is no passion in EDM, but I can say for a fact there is passion abounding in it that people all over the world see and love. its a sound that appeals to alot of crowds and is most definately music. they say anyone can be a dj but just today i see a commercial to learn guitar in 60 days. hyporcritical much? know your shit rolling stone…

your attack against EDM is really low… Dance music has been around for decades now, and DJ’s which you claim are no bodies are the ones who night after night play the music that feeds your starving paper magazine of which is a dying breed… you should be encouraging all types of music and not generalizing the people behind it, i’m 42 i love house/techno/electronica and i’ve never done drugs in my life… unlike your rock potheads and alcoholic scums… see how it feels…
i thought putting the bostom bomber on your cover was low but this takes it to a lower point. you guys are getting desperate. did you even think for a moment that Aviccii and David Guetta write their own music? they are producers as well… Afrojack is also a pianist and a producer…
who ever made that video is a clueless shit head who doesn’t know his mouth from his asshole.. you put deadmouse on your cover but here you are with a video telling people they are druggies and wasting time listening to dance music, are you that oblivious that at every Ultra the concert brings a total of over 60,000 people a day and it brings the commerce of miami tons of revenue? are you that clueless? if i was in charge i would fire the idiot who asked that video to be made on the spot.
you’re going to lose millions and millions of readers. Rock is not dead is just poorly promoted you assholes, go ahead make a video with executives of the major labels laughing how they make money with pop music and they don’t want to put any into rock music.. better yet why don’t you idiots make a video where you teach students how to play an instrument? or make a video how music programs in schools get cut, therefore there are no students playing guitar or drums.. or is this what you wanted? you wanted to get all the dance community to be angry and come at you and say “oooohhhh! there’s a magazine about music”..

I remember when a local radio station said back in the early 90’s Y100 MIAMI “we don’t play any RAP” today they play everything because they have no choice and realize they have to please everyone and not put down any type of music. if i were you i would delete this video from where it stands, and prepare a most sincere apology to the EDM community.
