Yesterday, Krewella released a new hour long mix entitled “Jingle Troll Rock” for the seventh installment in their Troll Mix series. These mixes, which debut every month on SiriusXM Radio, have always been something for fans of the Krew to look forward to; however, the past couple mixes (5 and 6) were a little too radio-friendly for my tastes, which left a lot to be desired. With this latest mix, instead of going for a mainstream mix, Krewella went back to their roots in dubstep, drum & bass, and bass music in general and the result was incredibly refreshing!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if anyone can help bring grimy bass music back to where it was when Skrillex was the biggest name in EDM it’s Krewella and it’s so nice to see that they used their latest time slot on SiriusXM as an opportunity to do just that! Some of the standout tracks from the mix are Dead Robot‘s bootleg of “Scatta,” ak9‘s remix of “Rave Review,” Barely Alive‘s remix of “Sedated,” The Prototypes’ VIP of their track “Suffocate,” “Trailmixing” by Far Too Loud, Xilent‘s remix of “Live For The Night,” and a dope throwback to DotEXE‘s classic remix of “One Minute.” Check out the mix below and make sure to grab the free download as well!
