Calvin Harris Passes Michael Jackson, Sets New UK Chart Record

As of this week, Calvin Harris became a new record holder in the UK when he secured 8 chart hits off his 18 Months album. The last song that secured Calvin’s lead was his recent track with Ellie Goulding, I Need Your Love (Original Mix), which is an impressive addition to the already charted Feel So Close (Original Mix), Bounce (Original Mix), and We Found Love (Original Mix) featuring Rihanna. After squeezing Michael Jackson out of the record holding spot, Calvin Harris later tweeted:

“I’ll never dance, sing or be an ultimate musical legend & icon like MJ but he didn’t know anything about sidechaining so it all balances out.”

And maybe he is right! In a new day and age when electronic music is becoming ever more popular, maybe side chaining is equivalent to music legends on the charts? A scary thought, but none the less, congratulations to Calvin Harris.
