It’s not often that I sit back and find myself thinking, “This is some amazing progressive house.” ak9‘s remix of Wye Oak‘s track ‘Civilian’ made me think exactly that. WOW
From start to finish, this track is perfect. Booming kicks fade into perfectly plucked guitar riffs and the faintly southern drawl of Wye Oak‘s vocals as the track builds toward its breakdown. Once it hits, there’s no stopping the energy as uplifting synths swell and carry you to the track’s conclusion.
