With the amount of modern music festivals showcasing electronic music occurring around the world, it should come as no surprise that electronic artists spend the bulk of their time traveling. Bandsintown, the popular application used for concert discovery, recently released a study showing which artists in their database did the most traveling and touring over the past year.
The category of “Most Countries Visited” was dominated by Aly & Fila. The Egyptian trance duo visited 46 countries in 2014, including Argentina, Russia, Cyprus, and Indonesia. Following closely behind is superstar Martin Garrix, who toured across 45 countries, such as Greece, Hungary, and Switzerland. Also included in the top 10 were Steve Aoki, W&W, Nervo, and MAKJ.
As for “Most Tour Dates in 2014”, The Chainsmokers ranked as the busiest electronic act on the list. The NYC-based duo, who started off the year by unleashing “#SELFIE”, had 192 tour dates this past year – more days than a typical student spends in school. Steve Aoki, DVBBS, and Quintino also made the top 10, with 186, 184, and 179 tour dates, respectively.
