For the first time since its inception, Coachella’s Neon Carnival will take place somewhere other than its birthplace of Indio, California. Announced just recently, Coachella’s sought after event is set to open the Super Bowl by joining other parties from the likes of Playboy, ESPN and DIRECTV, which are all taking place on Friday of this week in Phoenix.
The Neon Carnival has garnered wide appeal and recognition due in part to the music as well as its popularity amongst movie stars. Twilight actress Ashley Greene and Oscar-winner Clint Eastwood are just a few of the many personalities having attended the event throughout the years.
Neon Carnival creator Brent Bolthouse also wrote in a statement that it was always his hope to take the party to other locales, and he is thrilled to be bringing it to the Super Bowl: 
“We’ve been trying for years (to bring the party to other cities), by some miracle it all came together.” –Brent Bolthouse
