Skrillex & Diplo’s commitment to the Jack Ü project is seriously commendable. For the amount of work that they each do individually, it seems they’re doing just as much for their individual side projects, as well. They both get booked regularly, separately, at festivals across the country and world, and often when they’re booked for the same fest, surprises happen.
Take Hangout Music Festival in Alabama this weekend, for example. On May 7th, Hangout announced that Friday headliner Sam Smith would not be able to make his performance due to surgery on his vocal cords. And since Diplo and Skrillex were both already booked to play (the former playing a set with Major Lazer), Hangout was able to secure an impromptu Jack Ü set to fill in.
The duo will close out the festival’s Boom Boom Tent on Friday night. Hangout Fest is this weekend, from the 14th-17th. Take a look at the lineup and set a schedule here.
