Major Lazer’s “Lean On” Is The Most Streamed Song Worldwide For The Summer

Major Lazer Release Music Video Starring Ellie Goulding & Tarrus Riley

In the scope of hit summer songs, there’s hardly a better example than this year’s “Lean On” from Major Lazer, DJ Snake and MØ. The song has been played multiple times at every festival you’ve been to, has received generous radio airplay, and was even the most shazamed song at this year’s Tomorrowland.

Now, you can add “most streamed globally on Spotify” to that ever-growing list of achievements.

Earlier this week, Spotify revealed its most-listened-to songs of the summer for its global and US audiences. While in the US, hip hop outshone EDM with seven out of ten tracks (sorry, no rock to be found), the global scales were tipped slightly more in electronic music’s favor, with an equal representation at five tracks each.

Jack Ü & Justin Bieber’s hit “Where Are Ü Now” is curiously only at #6 on the global charts (same in the US).

Check out the charts below.
