A few short weeks ago, Goldenvoice unveiled a Coachella lineup that left fans either gushing tears of joy or expletives of disapproval. With the momentous return of LCD Soundsystem, and a heavily electronic influenced lineup, the famed Californian festival is set for another talked about event. But it doesn’t stop there. Riding the tails of such a colossal lineup announcement, Goldenvoice has just announced an expansion to the East Coast. Welcome, Panorama Festival.
Originally slated to be the same month as New York’s Governor’s Ball, Panorama is now scheduled to take place from July 22nd-24th. Over the last two years, Goldenvoice has been working closely with officials and communities in Queens, in effort to host Panorama at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. However, for its inauguration, Panorama Festival will take place at Randall’s Island Park, with hopes to one day call Corona Park home.
“The inaugural event will present three days of top tier musical performances, dynamic art installations, innovative technology, and some of NYC’s best local eats.”
This isn’t the company’s first attempt at throwing an NYC event, either. In 2008, AEG Live, operator of Goldenvoice, hosted All Points West in Liberty State Park, but the endeavor failed after just two years. We have a feeling that this time, things are going to be very different.
