The hyped collaboration between Skrillex and K-Pop ensemble 4minute is out today. Though we saw an extremely brief snippet last Friday, the meat of the track was still missing.
Now, we can get to hear the whole thing and oh my god it’s fantastic!! Having already released two new collaborations on the OWSLA Worldwide Broadcast compilation last week, this would be Skrillex’s third release already in 2016, and … perhaps his best.
In a drop that’s reminiscent of Jack Ü (sans Diplo), we’re treated to blaring horns and a crazy catchy topline. Even though we can’t understand what 4minute is saying, their cadence and vocal skills shine through with the aid of Skrillex’s production.
“We worked on a few songs with Skrillex, but this is the one that stuck with us, and that’s why it‘s our lead track,” said 4minute member Gayoon.
Tracks with foreign lyrics are rarely heard in sets in the US, but this one might be too good to pass up.
The rest of the album is also equally good, bringing on a healthy dose of EDM influence throughout.
