We’ve got some exciting news for all you West coast festival heads currently planning your spring and summer adventures: Northern Nights just dropped their Phase 1 lineup and it is refreshingly unique.
While so much of the festival scene is saturated with stale, recycled acts on bill after bill, the NNMF crew dedicates a truly commendable amount of energy to ensuring they gather some of the best and the brightest; from rising stars, to established powerhouses. Headlining this year’s party is future funk icon, GRiZ; with his 2016 tour already sold out, this will be one of the few remaining places you can catch the mad sax-playing maestro! Right alongside him are legendary acts like Amon Tobin (performing as Two Fingers), Claptone, and The Knocks, all highly sought after acts that you’re unlikely to see anywhere else this season. On the more underground tip, Daktyl, Machinedrum, SNBRN, Slumberjack, TekLife (featuring DJ Spinn & Taso), and many more will be there to blow your mind with the latest in all things bass heavy. And with this festival, the music is just the beginning; taking place once again at the idyllic Cook’s Valley Campground on the banks of Mendocino’s Eel River, attendees will have access to gorgeous swimming holes, riverside camping, and the cool embrace of shade from an ancient grove of towering redwood trees.
Northern Night‘s is shaping up to be an absolute delight for the senses and we simply can’t wait to return; it was one of our favorite gatherings of last year, hands down.
