On the tails of Bass Center, the one and only Bassnectar is throwing a two night return to basics. Stripped of LED walls, Co2 cannons, and everything else we’ve come to expect from modern concerts, the event will take place in a warehouse with capacity for 10,000.
Though selling tickets to the event isn’t exactly old school, and it’s already sold-out, the only details provided to fans were, “There will be a map point & info to follow, but to be clear this is not a “show” – it’s a gathering.”
Beverages and snacks will be provided to keep everyone happy and healthy, and there will even be an area in the venue known as The Haven, an oasis of luscious blankets and pillows where guests will be encouraged to escape and relax. Though the dimly lit setting might prompt a bit more activity than a couple benign back rubs…
The inspiration behind this warehouse rave comes from Bassnectar’s own experience as a youth, which he’s hoping to recreate for a generation of fans who never had the opportunity to experience such a gathering.
“I had no idea where it was or what it was going to be like. A kid from school found the directions last minute…it was like a treasure hunt. When we got out of the car, you could hear the bass booming in the distance. We just followed the bass until we found ourselves at the doorway to a building.”
Scheduled to take place September 9th and 10th, at a yet-to-be-disclosed location in Downtown Atlanta, this marks Nectar’s first endeavor into breathing new life into traditions of old.
“We are always daydreaming up new ideas, and our team is busy working on more events like this. (We’re) currently scouring the West Coast for potential venues.”
