A-Trak Breaks Down How He Made “Heads Will Roll” [VIDEO]

As far as EDM classics go, A-trak‘s 2009 single “Heads Will Roll” is up there with the very best. With an iconic bass line, memorable vocals and more remixes than we can count, the song has since established itself as one of the most recognizable dance tracks to be made in recent years.

On his Instagram today, A-trak decided to take a trip to the past and show fans the origin story behind the renowned song. Beginning with its “original bass demo” version, featuring a more driving bass line and a lack of the distorted strings. From there, A-trak says that he incorporated the string samples into a “’90s demo.”

He goes through the different segments of the final version, showing how he created the string section and bass line.

Check out the full clip below, and learn about one of EDM’s mainstay hits.
