Bringing new levels to the already brilliant ‘Something More’ from KNOXA this week are four sets of individually talented remixers. The bassy house cut from the London act really stood out when it got dropped a while back, and is still getting plenty of air-time.
Tackling this tune first is CRaymak, who sets up the remake with a stunning, almost ethereal opening before descending into some raw bass stammers. Marcellus Wallace and Vanillaz head down a more house-based route, but offer lots of rhythmical nuance and precise instrumentation. SUBSHOCKERS complete the set with low-slung trap influences and twinkles of piano.
