The Weeknd Releases Short Film, “M A N I A”

The Weeknd is gearing up big for his album release on Friday, releasing today the short film titled M A N I A.

The film is equal parts creative, artistic endeavor, music teaser, and self aggrandizement. The video clearly demonstrates The Weeknd’s strong new aesthetic, featuring dark motifs coupled with strangely optimistic overtones.

New music featured in the video include “Secrets,” “A Lonely Night” and “Sidewalks.” The end of the video is entirely him performing his second collaboration with Daft Punk, “I Feel It Coming,” which only further serves to solidify our earlier assertion that Abel has potential to be this generation’s King Of Pop.
