Instagram just introduced its new Live Stories capabilities today, in an effort to bring fans and influencers even closer together (Facebook owns Instagram, so the live feature was only a matter of time).

One of the first to go live on the platform was Calvin Harris, who’s currently in the studio working on music. Shawn Mendes showed up for a bit, but really we’re interested in this bit of the video when he was showing off a tune called “Hard To Love.”

At a couple points in the video, fans comment that it wasn’t good, or whatever, and Calvin had some pretty visceral reactions.

At 0:59 – “Hey, whoever said ‘horrible,’ fuck you! Fuck you! This is fuckin’ awesome! Fuck you!”
At 2:00 – “Bro, did I say it was gonna be a fuckin hit? I’m playing you a fucking song! Relax! Fucking relax! I don’t give a fuck!”
At 2:26 – “I’m not going to be a [unintelligible]. That’s pissed me off. Fuck you, man. Fuck you. ‘I’m gonna play you my new hit.’ I didn’t fucking say that. I said I’m gonna play you a song that I made. Fuck you. Fuckin assholes up in here man, mother fuckers.”

More than anyone else, Calvin should be used to criticism. But at the end of the day, we feel like he’s just having fun, too. Later on in the stream he remarked, “I don’t actually get mad at people on the internet.” Still, it feels like an “it’s just a prank, bro” moment – not totally sincere, and backpedaling.
