Brooklyn based producer Sam Ekstein, known better as Esseks, has developed a devoted fan base with his experimental style of bass music categorized as something dark yet playful. A diverse musical talent and visual artist, Esseks stuns fans with his latest album Broken Bones (Sticks & Stones) releasing on Liquid Strangers own Wakaan imprint.
The album features an eclectic style that is all it’s own, with the intro track reminiscent of a bass heavy Stranger Things opening while tracks like “Pigeon Toes” giving you a weird smile while haunting basses wobble in the background. Esseks leaves no realm of the bass world untouched, incorporating elements of DnB into tracks like “Captains Log,” glitch hop into “Spookyboy,” and heavy sub driven sounds in “Trapped In The VCR.”
