YouTube and Ticketmaster are joining forces to make it even easier to snag tickets to shows of your favorite touring artists!
Starting today, YouTube is rolling out a new system that integrates upcoming U.S. tour dates right into music video landing pages via Ticketmaster’s database. This is a huge move forward with YouTube’s plan to build more artist-to-fan connections across its platform.
Getting concert tickets has never been easier! While checking out a music video on an official artist or VEVO channel, simply scroll down below the description to see where the given artist is playing next. Examples below showcase The Chainsmokers on tour and their “Closer” collaborator Halsey’s tour dates.
The nearest show in line with the user account’s zip code will generate, as well as a few more upcoming dates. To view more or purchase, simply press “Tickets” to be directed to Ticketmaster’s full website. The experience works on both web and mobile.
For now, only artists who have Ticketmaster shows in North America will show up, but this new feature has potential to expand more in the U.S. and globally. YouTube continues to work on its music discovery and streaming, and hints at even more artist-to-fan features to come for its 1.5 billion logged-in monthly users.
This integration isn’t exclusive to YouTube, however — Ticketmaster also works closely with Spotify, the current king of music streaming.
